Teamer

Starting in the 2009/2010 season, we will be using Teamer to help us communicate team selection, match details and manage responses. Teamer will help reduce the captains' pain of contacting the team about selection by allowing them to select players for a fixture online and have the website send the text messages and emails. All the player has to do is let the captain know that they're available by responding to the text message or going online to mark themselves as available.

What will happen?

After a team organiser has added you as a player for a particular team the first thing that will happen is that you will receive a text message and/or an email informing you and asking you to complete the registration process. You'll get the most out of Teamer if you use the website rather than simply respond to text messages.

Later, a team organiser will create an 'event' - in most cases this will be a match. They'll enter the details of the event, which will be sent to participants when they are selected.Once the event details are complete the organiser will select players from the list that they added previously.

Once the players are selected they hit the 'send' button and sit back and wait. After the 'send' button has been pressed you will receive notification by text message and email that you have been selected, which team you've been selected for and the details of the event (match) - obviously the amount of text that can be sent in a text message is pretty small, which is why you get more out of Teamer by going online.

All you have to do is confirm your availability or otherwise by responding to the text message or going online.

Team organisers will monitor the responses and will be reliant on the responses to Teamer message to know who they have in their team that week - so please do respond.

Note: Some people will inevitably play for more than one team - in this scenario you will be registered as a player for all teams as necessary. You may receive notification that you've been made a player of each of the teams but there shouldn't be any need for you to register details more than once.

What does it cost?

The beauty of Teamer is that there is no cost to use the service - either to the club or the players (text messages to confirm availability are obviously charged at whatever rate your tariff charges).

How do Teamer use my details?

Teamer do not send loads of spam emails or text messages and they won't sell your contact details to the highest bidder. For full details of their privacy policy click here.
