Subject: Bournville v Atherstone match report U7's
Thanks to all those that turned up for the games on Sunday against Atherstone.
Luckily we had a nice refreshing shower to start, this helped moisten the parched pitch and soften the impact for any tumbles during the game! Three Games were played:
Game 1: 8 tries for Bournville - 2 Atherstone.
Some good strong playing was in evidence as we dominated play. Well done to the try scorers:
Daniel Myers 2, George Roberts 1, James or Jonny 1 - (not sure on this one - poor notes) , Morgan 2, Zaki 2.
Thought it was very nice of Atherstones shortest and stockiest of players to run up and hug each of our players when our boys scored.
Game 2: 4 tries for Bournville - 3 Atherstone
A closer match this one, with everything to play for. The boys dug deep and showed great determination - well done lads. Try scorers were:
Daniel Scotney 2, Luke 1, James Pereirah 1.
Game 3: We won but cannot remember too much about this game - Hypothermia setting in! Well done anyway.
Pretty sure Morgan scored a few, Joe - seem to remember him celebrating, Harvey, James P - again, Benedict - was definately celebrating.
Thanks Richard for helping manage the lads whilst I was ref. and Dan was busy coaching those that were taking a break from the matches.

Subject: Match against Kenilworth - Training on the 29th Nov
I thought the boys did really well against Kenilworth. The weather was not great to start but it did not deter the boys from showing their grit and determination. Furthermore, because Kenilworth had such a large squad it permitted us to field two teams at the same time. This hopefully gave the younger ones a real taste of a tough match and will undoubtedly give them something to contemplate. Three games were played in total.
Game 1:
A little disorganised to start but some strong running from Harvey Jevons. The boys struggled to contain Kenilworth in this first game but we were fielding a mixed ability side and trying to switch players to let as many as possible play.
Game2:
A report from Dan highlighted that whilst the score was slightly against us on the middle pitch Bournville showed stoicism in adversity. The battle was led by James and Harvey with the less experienced players giving it their all - chins up guys! From little acorns giant oaks grow.
Game 3:
The team that Richard managed (thanks Richard) showed some strong running and good tagging. The final score was 4 tries to 3 so a good result. All the boys were giving a hundred percent and putting into practice some good core skills.
Point to note - please can the boys remove gloves for games. They are fine for training in but can stop the lads making break point tags on the opposition.
Thanks, Sean

Subject: Bromsgrove match Sunday 1st
Big match against Bromsgrove this coming Sunday. Please can as many as possible turn up as it would be great to get a good side together or possibly two sides going at once. They normally have numbers on their side but the Bournville grit and determination will hopefully prevail once more. Please let me know if you can make it for this Sunday as Bromsgrove would like an indication on numbers Suggest we all meet there for 10.30. Cheers Sean
